Development of the beef, pork and fish industries: MINEPIA signs 8 agreements worth over 6 billion euros

Eight assistance contracts and partnership agreements signed on Wednesday 23 February 2022 at the Yaoundé Hilton Hotel. The MINEPIA, Dr TAÏGA signed three (03) assistance contracts, one with the ILO and two (02) with the FAO. The National Coordinator of the PDCVEP, Dr Aboubakar Njoya, signed five partnership agreements with ANOR, CNPS, FEICOM, IRAD and SODEPA. These international and national partner institutions will support the PDCVEP in implementing the project’s activities.

The signing ceremony, presided over by the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taïga, was attended by the Ministers of Agriculture, Labour and Industry, the Representative of the African Development Bank, representatives of the ILO and the FAO.

The Livestock and Fish Farming Value Chain Development Project is financed to the tune of 65 billion CFA francs by the African Development Bank and the State of Cameroon. It concerns the beef, pork and fish sectors, and will cover the entire country for a period of 5 years.
