The Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) has a Zootechnical, Veterinary and Fisheries Education and Training Unit (CEFZVH) in accordance with Decree No. 2012/382 of September 14, 2012 on the organization of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries. This unit is responsible, among other things, for the design, development and implementation of the Government’s policy on zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education and training. This provision is implemented through 17 training structures, namely: the Limbe Nautical Arts and Fisheries Institute (LINAFI); the National Zootechnical and Veterinary Training Centers (CNFZV) of Foumban, Maroua and Jakiri and the Training Centers (13) renovated by the PCP-AFOP program.

Initial Training

The Initial Training is intended for young and future professionals wishing to specialize in the livestock, fisheries and animal industries sectors. These training programs take place in renowned institutions, where experts offer in-depth teaching and practical skills to prepare the next generation of professionals in the sector.

The main initial training institutions include:

• Limbe Institute of Nautical Arts and Fisheries (LINAFI)
• National Zootechnical and Veterinary Training Centers (CNFZV) of Foumban
• National Zootechnical and Veterinary Training Centers (CNFZV) of Jakiri
• National Zootechnical and Veterinary Training Centers (CNFZV) of Maroua
• Training Centers for Agropastoral Operators
• Master Fishermen Training Center

These centers offer training covering all stages of the value chain, from production to management, including processing and marketing.

Professional training of actors in the value chain of the EPIA sub-sector

The Professional Training of Value Chain Actors in the EPIA Sub-Sector is dedicated to active farmers, fishermen and breeders. It aims to strengthen their skills, adopt innovative and sustainable practices, and optimize production. The training programs offered in different centers are specifically designed for producers who wish to develop their practical skills and improve the profitability of their activities.
