LANAVET
Introduction
LANAVET (National Veterinary Laboratory) is a public structure under the supervision of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) of Cameroon. The main mission of this national laboratory is to ensure animal health monitoring, the fight against epidemics, the production of veterinary vaccines, as well as the performance of veterinary analyses and diagnostics. LANAVET plays a key role in animal health security in Cameroon, contributing to the prevention of diseases and the protection of agriculture and animal production.

Brief history :
- 2021: Le Lanavet becomes a public capital company by decree of Prc 2021/089 of February 12, 2021 amending the company’s statutes.
- 1986: First vaccination campaign with Lavanet vaccines
- 1983: Creation of Lavanet
Missions
The missions of LANAVET are:
- The production and marketing of vaccines and medicines;
- Analysis of biological samples with a view to making a diagnosis;
- The study of animal diseases;
- Surveillance of epizootic diseases;
- Training of executives and technicians;
- Scientific collaboration with national and international organizations.
