(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Regional Veterinary Services Service is responsible for:

• animal health and veterinary public health;
• the health of animal and fishery products;
• monitoring the movement of animals and their products;
• epidemiological surveillance;
• the preparation and updating of epidemiological maps of the region;
• monitoring the activities of private veterinarians;
• supplies of technical equipment, medicines and veterinary products;
• the support and control of public and private veterinary laboratories;
• monitoring the implementation of the Ministry’s projects in the Region in the field of health protection and veterinary public health.
