Regional Service for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Fisheries Industries
(1) Under the authority of a Head of Service, the Regional Service for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Fisheries Industries is responsible for:
- the inspection, promotion, monitoring and control of fishing, aquaculture and fishing industry activities;
- technical control of fishing gear;
- monitoring of available fishery resources;
- the promotion of fishery and aquaculture by-products;
- monitoring the implementation and evaluation of fisheries and aquaculture projects;
- the promotion and development of fish and fish production and their derivatives;
- training of fishermen, fish farmers and processors of fishery products;
- the popularization of fisheries and aquaculture techniques;
- monitoring and control of private fisheries and aquaculture extension services;
- the protection of fisheries, maritime and river resources;
- monitoring and control of catching gear and fishing units;
- monitoring and controlling the movement and marketing of fishery products;
- monitoring the activities of professional and inter-professional organisations in the fisheries and aquaculture sector;
- monitoring and monitoring the application of quality standards for equipment and products of fishery origin;
- monitoring the implementation of fisheries and aquaculture regulations;
- the collection of statistics on fisheries, aquaculture and the fishing industries;
- monitoring the implementation of the Ministry’s projects in the Region, in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
