Pet Health Service
(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Domestic Animal Health Service is responsible for:
- monitoring the implementation of domestic animal health projects;
- post-vaccination immunological and serological monitoring and evaluation;
- monitoring production activities and monitoring the application of standards for biological products for veterinary use;
- monitoring and controlling the circulation of biological products for veterinary use;
- participation in the development and monitoring of the application of regulations on the health of domestic animals;
- monitoring the implementation of prophylaxis and control programs for domestic animal diseases;
- participation in the development and monitoring of the application of contingency plans against domestic animal diseases, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
- the monitoring and control of the movements of live animals;
- participation in the development of standards for the installation of farms and establishments for the exploitation of domestic animals in liaison with the administrations concerned;
- participation in the development and monitoring of the application of standards for the management and protection of natural and artificial biotopes of domestic animals in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- monitoring of transboundary animal health issues;
- participation in the development and monitoring of the application of traceability methods for domestic animals and their farm products, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
- the examination of technical advice files on the import or export of live animals, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- the popularization of the scientific literature on pet health;
- monitoring the application of standards for the installation of veterinary clinics, housing and pet food.
