Quality Control and Veterinary Certification Department
(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Quality Control and Veterinary Certification Service is responsible for:
- the preparation of draft legislative and regulatory texts relating to hygiene and veterinary public health;
- monitoring and controlling the application of health quality standards for foodstuffs of animal and fishery origin;
- monitoring the application of traceability systems for products of animal and fishery origin, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- the examination of applications for the approval of laboratories for the quality control of foodstuffs of animal and fishery origin;
- examining technical advice files on the import or export of foodstuffs of animal and fishery origin, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- certification of the sanitary quality of foodstuffs of animal and fishery origin and livestock inputs, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
- the popularization of scientific and technical documentation on quality control and veterinary certification.
