(1) Under the authority of a Director, the Directorate of Pastures, Animal Feed and Livestock Infrastructure is responsible for:

• the identification and monitoring of actions contributing to the development of pastoral infrastructure and pasture development;
• the development and monitoring of the application of regulations on pasture management and compound feed standards;
• the development of regulations and the monitoring of standards, as well as their application in terms of pastoral infrastructure and pasture development, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
• the preparation of maps of fodder, animal and hydraulic resources, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
• the security and concerted management of pastoral areas, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
• monitoring pastoral development and fodder exploitation;
• support for the prevention and management of conflictual land situations in terms of pastures;
• the harmonization of the various interventions in the development of infrastructure and pastoral areas;
• support for the development and monitoring of the implementation of infrastructure and pastoral development projects, in conjunction with decentralized local authorities and the administrations concerned;
• the development of fodder crops;
• the certification of fodder seeds;
• the definition of transhumance zones;
• promotion of the use of agro-industrial by-products.

(2) It shall include:

• The Sub-Directorate of Pastures and Livestock Infrastructures;
• The Sub-Directorate of Animal Feed.
