(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Inland and Artisanal Maritime Fishing Service is responsible for:

• the promotion of small-scale maritime and inland fisheries;
• the examination of applications for sport, inland and artisanal maritime fishing permits and authorizations;
• the organization and monitoring of the technical supervision of artisanal fishermen;
• the updating of the file of catching gear and inland and artisanal maritime fishing units;
• the su1v1 of the activities of professional and interprofessional organizations of artisanal fishermen;
• support for artisanal fishermen;
• participation in the collection of statistics on inland and artisanal maritime fisheries;
• the preparation and monitoring of the implementation of training activities for national artisanal fishermen, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
• the popularization of artisanal fishing techniques and gear;
• support for the integration of nationals into small-scale fisheries, in liaison with the administrations concerned.
