(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Fisheries Resources Assessment and Development Service is responsible for:

  • studies and assessments of fishery resources;
  • the identification and inventory of national fishery resources;
  • participation in the collection and processing of fishing statistics;
  • fisheries management;
  • the development and implementation of techniques for the renewal of fishery resources;
  • the promotion of methods for the sustainable exploitation of fishery resources;
  • socio-economic studies of fishing activities;
  • the study of species and their adaptability to various ecological zones.
