Sub-Directorate of Industrial and Artisanal Fisheries
(1) Placed under the authority of a Deputy Director, the Sub-Directorate of Industrial and Artisanal Fisheries is responsible for:
- the management and sustainable development of national fisheries resources;
- the promotion of fish production and the popularization of fishing techniques;
- monitoring and control of private fisheries extension services;
- the organisation and monitoring of technical supervision in the field of fisheries;
- the examination of applications for approval of the profession of industrial fishing;
- collection of statistics on industrial and artisanal fishing;
- monitoring the application of fisheries regulations;
- fisheries management;
- the examination of permits, licenses and authorizations for the exploitation of fishery resources;
- of the training of fishermen.
