(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Aquaculture Extension Service is responsible for:

• the collection of aquaculture research results with a view to their extension;
• the inventory of aquaculture resources;
• the collection of research data in aquaculture matters;
• centralization of fisheries research needs;
• the popularization of aquaculture species adapted to the various ecological zones;
• the popularization of quality standards for aquaculture equipment and products;
• the popularization of aquaculture techniques and standards;
• monitoring and control of private aquaculture extension institutions, in liaison with the relevant administrations;
• centralization, processing and analysis of statistical data;
• socio-economic studies of fishing and aquaculture activities.
