Sub-Directorate of Aquaculture
(1) Under the authority of an Assistant Director, the Sub-Directorate of Aquaculture is responsible for:
- the development and monitoring of aquaculture projects;
- the implementation of aquaculture projects;
- the creation of an aquaculture research results bank;
- the sustainable development of national aquaculture resources;
- the popularization of aquaculture species adapted to the various ecological zones;
- the popularization of aquaculture standards;
- the promotion of aquaculture and aquaculture products;
- the study of species and their adaptability to the various ecological zones;
- the examination of applications for authorisation to create or open aquaculture establishments;
- the examination of technical advice files for the import and export of aquaculture species;
- the organization and monitoring of the technical supervision of aquaculturists;
- the identification of aquaculture research needs;
- the development and updating of the file of aquaculturists;
- the collection of statistics on aquaculture production;
- monitoring and supporting the actions of professional and interprofessional organisations of aquaculturists;
- the popularization of the results of fisheries and fish research;
- the development of quality standards for aquaculture equipment and products;
- the design and promotion of techniques for the development of aquaculture facilities;
- monitoring the development, operation and maintenance of aquaculture infrastructure;
- monitoring the application of aquaculture infrastructure regulations;
- the development of the aquaculture map, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- the harmonization of the various interventions in the field of aquaculture infrastructure;
- monitoring the rational management of aquaculture infrastructure and equipment.
