Non-Conventional Breeding, Beekeeping and Companion Animals Service
(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Non-Conventional Breeding, Beekeeping and Companion Animals Service is responsible for:
- monitoring the application of regulations on non-conventional farming, companion animals and beekeeping products;
- the study and inventory of non-conventional, apical and companion animal farms;
- monitoring and technical control of non-conventional livestock establishments, beekeeping and companion animal farms;
- monitoring the operation of non-conventional farms, companion animals and beekeeping;
- the promotion of medium and large non-conventional and apical livestock farms;
- support for the setting up of non-conventional, beekeeping and companion animal breeding projects;
- the promotion of non-conventional breeding, beekeeping and companion animal farming;
- the examination of applications for approval, authorisation to create and authorisation to open non-conventional breeding, companion animal breeding and beekeeping establishments;
- the examination of technical advice files on the import and export of animals from non-conventional farms, companion animals and beekeeping products;
- the collection of livestock statistics on the said farms;
- the promotion and monitoring of quality labels for non-conventional livestock products and beekeeping, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- monitoring the traceability of non-conventional livestock products and beekeeping.
