(1) Under the authority of a Head of Department, the Animal Genetic Seeds and Resources Service is responsible for:

• the preparation and monitoring of the application of the regulations for the management of animal genetic resources;
• the inventory of genetic resources;
• advisory support to producers for the efficient use of genetic material and biological products;
• the identification of genetic resources of endangered species, in liaison with the Ministry of Scientific Research;
• the examination of applications for the creation of breed cradles and the protection of species, in conjunction with the Ministry in charge of scientific research;
• monitoring the genetic improvement of animals through the selection and dissemination of high-performance breeds, in conjunction with the Ministry of Scientific Research.
