(1) Placed under the authority of a Deputy Director, the Sub-Directorate of Animal Industries is responsible for:

• the development, implementation and monitoring of the Government’s policy on the harmonious development of animal industries;
• the identification and monitoring of actions contributing to the development of animal industries;
• the development and implementation of regulations on animal industries, in liaison with the administrations concerned;
• the development and implementation of projects for the development of animal industries;
• the examination of applications for approval, authorisation to create or open establishments in the animal industries;
• the adoption of incentives for professionals in the animal industries sector;
• the examination of technical advice files on the import or export of products of animal origin.

(2) It shall include:

• The Dairy Industry Service;
• The Service of the Meat, Leather and Hide Industries.
