ZOOTECHNICAL, VETERINARY AND FISHERIES EDUCATION AND TRAINING UNIT
(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Cell, the Zootechnical, Veterinary and Fisheries Education and Training Unit is responsible for:
- the design, development and implementation of the Government’s policy on zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education and training;
- the promotion of the inclusion of zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education in school and university curricula, in conjunction with the administrations and bodies concerned;
- the pedagogical and administrative control of the activities of the training establishments under the Ministry;
- the development, evaluation and updating of training programmes in the schools under the Ministry, in conjunction with the establishments concerned;
- the development of educational tools in zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education and training;
- technical advice on zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education programmes in private establishments;
- participation in the technical and pedagogical control of private zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education establishments;
- the organisation of examinations and entrance examinations to public zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education establishments, in conjunction with the administrations and bodies concerned; participation in the development of partnerships and alternative mechanisms for financing training;
- support and monitoring of the professional integration of products from training centres and schools, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- monitoring the operation of public zootechnical, veterinary and fisheries education establishments placed under the authority or supervision of the Ministry.
(2) It comprises, in addition to the Head of Cell, three (03) Assistant Research Officers.
