Investigations and Statistics Unit
(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Unit, the Investigations and Statistics Unit is responsible for:
- designing, defining, developing and monitoring the implementation of the Ministry’s policy on the collection, production and use of statistical data;
- the collection, centralization, analysis, exploitation and production of statistical data on livestock, fisheries, and the animal and fisheries industries;
- the definition of methods and the conduct of statistical surveys and censuses in conjunction with the administrations and bodies concerned.
- the preparation and monitoring of accounts and revenues for the livestock, fisheries and animal and fisheries industries sub-sector;
- the development and implementation of an information network on the income of farmers in the livestock, fisheries, animal and fisheries industries subsector;
- the design and production of statistical management tools;
- statistical analysis of the evolution of the livestock, fisheries and animal and fisheries industries sub-sector;
- monitoring of production, farm and market statistics;
- the development of sub-sectoral performance indicators.
(2) It comprises, in addition to the Head of Cell, four (04) Assistant Research Officers.
