WORKING VISIT AND INAUGURATION OF A MEAL CRUMB PRODUCTION LINE IN BAFOUSSAM
With a view to implementing the import-substitution policy advocated by the Head of State and to reaching the goal of emergence by 2035, the Government, through the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA), intends to speed up the modernisation of the livestock, fisheries and animal industries sub-sector, increase production and productivity in these sectors and considerably reduce the gap between the quantities produced locally and those imported.
To implement this import-substitution policy, MINEPIA paid a working visit to the West Cameroon region from 23 to 24 August.
On Tuesday 23 August 2022, Dr Taiga visited the farms and hatcheries of the NJS Group (Noutchogouin Jean Samuel) in Bandjoun (Department of NKOUNG-KHI, Western Region) and the site of the new AGROCAM hatchery in the same town, which is due to be completed in 12 months.
Prior to this, MINEPIA stopped off at Obala in the LEKIE department, in the Centre region, where he was shown the construction work on AGROCAM’s parent farm. MINEPIA was accompanied on this visit by the Governor of the Centre region.
The working visit ended on Wednesday 24 August 2022 with the inauguration in Bafoussam of SPC’s crumb and bulk feed production line by Dr TAÏGA, Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, in the presence of Mr Gabriel MBAÏROBE, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Luc Magloire MBARGA ATANGANA, Minister of Trade, and Mr AWA FONKA Augustine, Governor of the West Region.
