STEERING COMMITTEE: The PDCVEP HOLDS ITS 5th ORDINARY SESSION
The Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr. TAIGA, chaired this Friday, February 21, 2025 in Yaoundé the 5th ordinary session of the Steering Committee, of the Livestock and Fish Farming Value Chain Development (PDCVEP) project. During this meeting, Minister Dr. TAIGA focused on the evaluation of the work done by the project coordination and team as well as all the partners in the implementation of the project. It was also a question of taking stock of the progress of important activities allowing the competitive increase of cattle, pig and fish products in order to integrate the dimension of the import substitution policy.
During its speech, MINEPIA said that this project has been extended by 24 months the date of the disbursement deadline set for December 31, 2026. He instructed the coordinator and his team to deal with the files quickly and seriously. And also to redouble efforts in order to make up for all the backlog accumulated in the implementation of activities in perfect harmony with the project partners.
This extension will make it possible to carry out major projects such as the construction of Industrial Slaughterhouses in Yaoundé and Bamenda; the implementation of the facilitation and refinancing operation for the benefit of producers with the Commercial Bank of Cameroon Chosen as the executing agency; the effective start-up of young incubators and entrepreneurs in the agro-pastoral field; the supply of the 20 meat markets in certain localities such as the commune of Meiganga in the Adamawa region, the commune of Bafia in the Centre, the commune of Bertoua 1er in Abong-bang in the East region, the commune of Kaelé and Mokolo in the Far North region, the commune of Guider in the Nord region and Kambé in the North-West region, the communes of Peté Bandjoun, Dschang and Foumban in the West region as well as the communes of Ambam and Sangmelima in the South region and Limbe in the south-west.
