A seminar on the subject was held in Yaoundé on 3 October 2023.

The aim of the seminar was to highlight the technical details of the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in implementing a new project focusing on aquaculture from next year.

Technical cooperation between MINEPIA and JICA focuses on three (03) major areas: training experts; supplying equipment; and building the capacity of Cameroonian experts.

The workshop was attended mainly by staff from the Directorate of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Fishing Industries (DPAIH). The workshop was chaired by the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr TAÏGA, who was accompanied by the Resident Representative of the JICA office in Cameroon, KAGEYAMA TADASHI.
