Under the theme: “Resilience and decent work: working together in the world of work to improve living conditions and social inclusion”, staff from the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA), draped in their pretty uniforms, stood out from the crowd with their brilliant performance during the parade on Boulevard du 20 mai. The Minister of Labour and Social Security (MINTSS), and other members of the government, who had come to support their staff, applauded.

After the parade, the festivities took place on the MINEPIA esplanade, in the presence of the Minister, Dr TAÏGA, the Secretary General, JAJI MANU GUIDADO, and the heads of central and decentralized departments. A word of welcome from the Head of the Social Action Department, Carole FOCHIVE, followed in turn by speeches from the President of the Cameroon Pork Interprofession and the Minister, Dr TAÏGA. As tradition would have it, the women of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries set the mood with musical performances, during which a vibrant tribute was paid to Dr. Laura BESSONG, Technical Advisor N°1, who died on April 11, 2023 in South Africa.

During the celebration, honorary awards were presented by Minister Dr TAÏGA. MINEPIA Gold Agent 2023 BOUBA GODJI from central services and NGAPNA MBOHOU YOUCHAH Agent DREPIA-Centre received these awards from MINEPIA.

Ahead of the May 1st celebration, women from the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries took part in a number of activities. A soccer match pitted the women of MINEPIA against the Greats Ladies from the Ministry of the Civil Service and Administrative Reform (MINFOPRA). The match was held at the Yaoundé military stadium, with MINFOPRA winning 2 goals to 1.
