The Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga, launched the 3rd national mass vaccination campaign against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in Sangmélima on Thursday 18 November 2021. This vaccination campaign follows two (02) others launched in Nanga-Eboko in 2019, and Ngomedzap and Mindif in 2020. According to Dr Taiga, a total of 5 million 500 thousand small ruminants have been vaccinated in 2020 and this year 6 million goats and sheep are the target. The vaccination campaign should be completed by January 2022. Dr Taiga also took the opportunity to present certificates to 40 young people who had taken part in a training course on aquaculture financed by the Caisse de Développement de la Pêche Maritime (CDPM).
