The Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taïga, received the new French Ambassador to the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Thierry Marchand, in audience on Thursday 03 November 2022. The French diplomat, who has just arrived in Cameroon, came to take stock of the cooperation issues linking his country to Cameroon’s Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries sub-sector.

The aim of this meeting was essentially based on food security and the organisation of the poultry and pastoral sectors. His Excellency Thierry Marchand recalled France’s efforts to strengthen partnerships in this area, to enable Cameroon to achieve food self-sufficiency. Also taking part in the discussions were the Coordinator of the Programme for the Consolidation and Sustainability of the Agropastoral Council (PCP-ACEFA), the Director of the Development of Animal Production and Industries (DDPIA) and the Head of the Studies, Planning, Cooperation and Statistics Division (DEPCS).
