FAO-CAMEROUN: Capacity building for small-scale producers on fodder production and conservation
As part of the implementation of the technical partnership project between the FAO and the Government of Cameroon (TCP 3705 Projet de l’amélioration de la productivité des élevages bovins et petits ruminants à travers le renforcement des capacités des petits producteurs sur la production et la conservation du fourrage), a practical capacity-building workshop for producers on techniques for harvesting and conserving fodder seed and making multi-nutritional blocks was organised in Ngaoundere.
The workshop was followed by the distribution of inputs (seeds, fertilisers, etc.) and small production equipment (motorised mowers, hay-making boxes, dabas, machetes, sickles, seed packaging bags, forks, etc.) to project beneficiaries, chaired by the MINEPIA Regional Delegate for Adamaoua.
The FAO/MINEPIA team also carried out a follow-up visit to the grazing areas being restored in the Commune of Belel, Adamaoua region, and in the Commune of Garoua Boulaï, East region.
