CDEN HOLDS 73RD ORDINARY SESSION
The Minister of Livestock Fisheries and Animal Industries, Board Chair of the Livestock Development Fund for the North (CDEN) presided over the 73rd Ordinary session in Garoua on the 7th August 2025.
The session was dedicated to the examination of the Administrative and management accounts. Dr. Taiga reiterated the important role CDEN plays in accompanying farmers adding that the structure is meeting up to the expectation of the government in that regard.
He disclosed that CDEN is an execution agency for the implementation of the Emergency Program for the fight against food crisis (PULCCA) and government’s giant projects such as the Import substitution Agropastoral and Fisheries Plan, (PIISAH) It completes this role by acquiring and distributing breeding kits to the vulnerable population.
During the session, the Annual Performance Report for 2024 was presented, the administrative and management account for 2024 was adopted and the activity report and mid-term execution of the 2025 budget was also presented.
CDEN’s budget for 2025 has realized a significant increase, which will facilitate the implementation of the Emergency Program for the Fight Against Food crisis (PULCCA) focusing on animal health protection, animal production and pastoral animation.
