7th edition of the livestock fair (DJODA) in Ngaoundéré
The 7th edition of the livestock fair (DJODA) took place in Ngaoundéré from 1 to 3 December 2021. The annual event, organised by the Confédération Nationale des Eleveurs under the aegis of the Ministère de l’Elevage, des Pêches et des Industries Animales (MINEPIA), brought together a number of livestock farmers from the national territory and neighbouring countries.
The theme of this year’s livestock exhibition focused on milk production. In his closing speech, the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga, reiterated the government’s support for livestock farmers to boost milk production in the country in order to implement the import substitution policy. The import and distribution of 164 Montbeliarde dairy cows is one of the measures taken by the government to implement this policy.
The ceremony was crowned by the presentation of prizes to the best livestock exhibitors. A date has been set for the next edition in 2022.
