2024 STEERING COMMITTEE: THE PDCVEP HOLDS ITS 4TH ORDINARY SESSION
The steering committee of the Livestock and Fish Farming Value Chain Development Project (PDCVEP) was held on Friday 9 February 2024 in Yaoundé. It was under the supervision of the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr TAIGA, in the presence of the National Coordinator of the project, Dr ABOUBAKAR NJOYA.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the project, examine and adopt the Annual Budgeted Work Plan (ABWP) for 2024, as well as the status of implementation of the 2023 recommendations.
During these discussions, several recommendations and resolutions were formulated, in particular the drawing up of a timetable for the activities included in the PTBA 2024 and ensuring compliance with its implementation. For the training courses planned under the PTBA 2024, the steering committee recommends that the terms of reference for all the training courses be submitted to the project owner for validation before they are implemented. With regard to the resolutions of this meeting, the steering committee takes note of the progress report on the implementation of the project as at 31 December 2023, as presented by the Project Coordination Unit (PCU). The Steering Committee6* notes that the construction of the Yaoundé and Douala meat markets for the studies will be completed by the end of December 2024. The COPIL also approved the annual work plan for the 2024 financial year, at the sum, all taxes included, of 19,127,767,360 CFA francs, subject to a number of recommendations being taken into account.
