Cooperation: Italian ambassador visits MINEPIA
Dr. Taïga and H.E. Filippo Scammaca Del Murgo met at the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries on November 26, 2021.
On November 26, 2021, the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries received an ambassador with a passion for livestock issues, particularly fishing, in his office. H.E. Filippo Scammaca Del Murgo and Dr. Taïga focused on the field of livestock and fisheries during an audience that lasted thirty minutes. “There is a lot of cooperation between the two countries in the fisheries sector. Italy has a lot of expertise and enough experience in fishing and fish farming,” said the Italian diplomat who presented his credentials to the Minister of External Relations on October 19, 2021. Afterwards, the ambassador asked for statistics on fishery products in Cameroon, but not without making promises to his host. “You can count on me to do my best to establish contacts between my country’s fishing and fish farming companies and Cameroon”, continued H.E. Filippo Scammaca Del Murgo.
In his turn, the Minister praised the good relations between Italy and Cameroon in terms of livestock farming and fishing in particular. “Fishing is the top priority.Our weakness is the absence of major shipowners, fishing and processing companies”, confessed the Minister.Two points of view that call for the continuation of this fruitful cooperation between Cameroon and Italy.
