COOPERATION: BAD AND MINEPIA EXCHANGE INFORMATION

The new Country Director of the African Development Bank (ADB) visited the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) on March 03, 2022.
It was a courtesy visit, more like a working session. Dr Serge Marie N’Guessan, newly assigned to Central Africa, almost began his contacts at the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA).
He reiterated the AfDB’s commitment to supporting Cameroon. The sixty-minute meeting between Dr Serge Marie N’Guessan and Dr Taïga could thus be summed up. Fish and milk are the main areas targeted by the AfDB in its drive to support the public authorities over the next five years. We need to speed up the transformation of what Cameroon produces, and involve young people and women in this process, if we hope to reduce Cameroon’s trade balance,” says Dr. Taiga’s host. The AfDB’s ambitions are very much in line with those of the MINEPIA, whose main focus for the time being remains import substitution through the development of aquaculture, fishing and milk.

The African Development Bank and MINEPIA enjoy excellent cooperation and share common interests. The Projet de Développement des Chaînes de Valeurs de l’Elevage et de la Pisciculture (PD-CVEP) is one of the latest fruits of this multilateral cooperation.
