CAMEROON-AFD COOPERATION: THE NEW AFD DIRECTOR VISITS MINEPIA

Virginie DAGO was accompanied by outgoing Director Benoît Lebeure.
The new director of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Cameroon will take up her post in August. But before taking up her new post, she visited the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries on June 14, 2022. After some pleasantries that punctuated the first few minutes of the audience, the Franco-Ivorian said she was very flattered to arrive in Cameroon after having worked for the French institution for twenty years. A development-oriented engineer by training, one of her priorities is to perpetuate the success of the C2D program. The South African defector in the same sector of activity arrives in Cameroon at a time when the C2D is in its third phase, that of maturity. During this phase, it is envisaged that the State will take ownership of the training projects, a kind of institutional objective to be achieved, which will be discussed by the two National Coordinators of the AFOP and ACEFA programs present at the audience and beneficiaries of C2D program subsidies.
After four years of collaboration, Benoît Lebeure leaves Cameroon with one wish: to see the State take ownership of all these actions.

On behalf of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, MINEPIA reassured his hosts of the government’s availability and openness to exchanges. The audience lasted around thirty minutes.
