PAN-RAM 2024-2028 BRIDGE THE GAP

The workshop to disseminate the 2023 AMR laboratory surveillance annual report and the PAN-AMR 2024-2028 antimicrobial resistance plan was held on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August in Mbalmayo, in the Centre region.

Led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health, accompanied by his counterpart from the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, the work of this workshop focused mainly on the dissemination of the NAP-RAM (document) and its amendment. Also taking part were representatives of the MINSANTE sectors; MINEPIA; MINADER; LANAVET ; Zoonoses programme … as well as multiple partners, WHO, GIZ, AMREF, not to mention members of civil society, to name but a few.

At the end of the discussions, some recommendations were made to consolidate the document:

The need to create a multi-sectoral platform in order to federate actions and work in synergy for a more effective response to AMR;

Transcription of the document in English language to meet national and international standards;

The involvement of civil society in decision-making.

As a reminder, the NAP-AMR 2024-2028 is a document resulting from an active multisectoral collaboration of national experts in human, animal, plant and environmental health with the technical support of development partners, developed according to the “One Health” principle, in line with the Global Action Plan to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance. Its objective is to effectively fight antimicrobial resistance through the use of quality-assured pesticides that are accessible to all those who need them.
