CECOPAK – ARTISANAL FISHERMEN RECEIVE GIFTS CECOPAK

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘊𝘌𝘊𝘖𝘗𝘈𝘒 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘒𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘪 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 7𝘵𝘩 𝘚𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 2024.

Presided over by the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries,Dr. Taiga alongside the Second Secretary at the Embassy of Japan to Cameroon,who represented the Japanese Ambassador to Cameroon,the colourful ceremony was marked by chants of praises and appreciation for the gesture which would go a long way to implement the import substitution policy.

The gifts were donated within the framework of the implementation of the economic and social development program.The Japanese government granted equipments and material, which included; a pick up vehicle,an ice production unit,a generator and 35 speed boats of 15 horse power.

The Ministry of Livestock Fisheries and Animal Industries on its part , through its Public Investment Budget handed over 45 canoes,90 paddles and 10 speed boats to Artisanal fishermen.

After testing the speed boats on the high sea in the presence of the Minister of Livestock Fisheries and Animal Industries,the fishermen promised to reduce the price of fish in the market and make good use of the equipment put at their disposal.

The cutting of the ribbon for the ice production unit paved the way for gifts to be offered to the Dr. Taiga as well as his Japanese counterpart.

Other grants are in the offing for artisanal fishermen in other areas.
