(1) Under the authority of a Section Head, the Fisheries, Aquaculture and Fisheries Industries Section is responsible for:

• the implementation of activities relating to fisheries and the promotion of aquaculture and fishing industries;
• the supervision of fishermen, aquaculturists and professional and interprofessional organizations in the sector;
• the supervision and popularization of appropriate fishing techniques and aquaculture and the control of fishing gear;
• monitoring compliance with fishing areas and biological rest;
• monitoring the application of measures for the conservation, development and exploitation of fishery products.
