(1) Under the authority of a Head of Department, the Regional Service for the Development of Animal Production and Industries is responsible for:

• the promotion, monitoring and control of animal production activities and industries;
• pastoral animation and the popularization of modern animal production techniques;
• the promotion of livestock products and their processing;
• monitoring of projects for approval, authorisation to create or open operating establishments in the field of animal production and industries;
• the technical supervision of livestock or animal industry establishments;
• monitoring the application of livestock regulations;
• monitoring and control of private extension services in animal production;
• monitoring the activities of livestock groups and cooperatives;
• monitoring the exploitation of animals and products of animal origin;
• the collection of statistics on animal production, animal feed resources and animal industries;
• the popularization of livestock product processing techniques;
• monitoring the exploitation of animals and products of animal origin;
• monitoring the implementation of the Ministry’s projects in the Region in terms of the development of animal production and industries.
