(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Veterinary Health Inspection Service is responsible for:

  • monitoring and monitoring the application of veterinary health inspection regulations;
  • monitoring and popularizing standardized veterinary health inspection procedures;
  • monitoring the application of quality standards in veterinary health inspection;
  • the examination of applications for authorisation to create and authorisation to open establishments for the exploitation of products of animal and fishery origin, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
  • the popularization of scientific and technical documentation in the field of veterinary health and public health inspection;
  • monitoring the implementation of projects in the field of veterinary health inspection, veterinary public health and consumer protection;
  • monitoring issues relating to veterinary public health and consumer protection;
  • the monitoring of consumer interest associations;
  • participation in the collection of statistical data relating to veterinary health inspection;
