(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Private Veterinary Sector Service is responsible for:

• monitoring the implementation of regulations contributing to private sector development;
• monitoring the application of the regulations on the supply of inputs to veterinary pharmacies;
• monitoring the evolution and control of the activities of private veterinarians;
• the inspection and control of the marketing channels of veterinary products and medicines and the initiation of corrective measures;
• monitoring the activities of the National Order of Veterinarians and all other professional associations of veterinarians;
• monitoring the application of standards for the distribution of medicines and veterinary inputs, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
• the examination of files and monitoring of the execution of the health mandate.
