Service of Small Livestock, Poultry and Rabbit Farming
(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Department, the Department of Small Livestock, Poultry and Rabbit Farming is responsible for:
- monitoring the application of regulations on small livestock, poultry and rabbit farming;
- the implementation of measures contributing to the development and modernization of small livestock, poultry and rabbit production;
- the promotion of medium and large farms of small livestock, poultry and rabbit farming;
- monitoring and technical control of small livestock, poultry and rabbit farming enterprises;
- monitoring the exploitation of small livestock, poultry and rabbit farming and their products;
- support for the setting up of small livestock, poultry and rabbit breeding projects;
- the examination of applications for approval, authorisation to create or open establishments for the breeding of small livestock, poultry and rabbits;
- the examination of technical advice files on the import or export of small livestock, poultry and rabbits;
- the promotion of short-cycle species sectors;
- the collection of statistics on the breeding of small livestock, poultry and rabbits;
- the promotion and monitoring of quality labels for livestock products, poultry and rabbits, in conjunction with the administrations concerned;
- monitoring the traceability of livestock products, poultry and rabbits.
