(1) Placed under the authority of a Head of Cell, the Computer Unit is responsible for:

• the design and implementation of the Department’s IT master plan;
• studies for the development, operation and maintenance of the Ministry’s computer applications and network;
• the establishment of banks and databases relating to the various IT subsystems of the Ministry;
• the security, availability and integrity of the Ministry’s IT system;
• support for the processing, storage and dissemination of data;
• technology watch in the field of IT;
• and the operation and maintenance of the Department’s applications and computer network.

(2) It comprises, in addition to the Head of the Cell, two (02) Assistant Research Officers.
