Placed under the high patronage of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education and the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, the work of the first edition of the ๐๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐๐บ ๐๐ฒฬ๐๐ฒฬ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป took place from August 1 to 3, 2024 in Yaoundรฉ.
This intellectual high mass which brought together more than 400 participants around the theme: ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ค๐ช๐ซ๐ค๐๐ง ๐ก’๐๐ญ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ข๐ฬ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ซ๐ฬ๐ฉ๐ฬ๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๏ฟฝ … The aim of the 2018 World Summit on the Protection of Human Rights, was to highlight the importance of innovation and training to meet current and future challenges.
For three (03) days, participants explored many facets of veterinary medicine, innovations, challenges and methods that can contribute to promoting this discipline which plays an important role in the development of food security. They were also given the opportunity to participate in practical training workshops led by renowned experts, to discuss the challenges facing the veterinary sector in Central Africa mainly, and to develop strategies that can strengthen the profession and its impact on the development of Cameroon.
In his inaugural lecture, the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr. TAรGA highlighted the crucial role of veterinarians in the import substitution policy led by the government. He added that “by ensuring the good health of animals, veterinarians contribute directly to increasing local production of foods such as eggs, poultry and fish, essential elements for Cameroon’s food security.”
The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques FAME NDONGO, for his part, welcomed “a strategic initiative” which fits perfectly with the vision of the Head of State which aims to make Cameroon “a modern, prosperous and resilient country”.
By highlighting the role of veterinarians in the socio-economic development of Cameroon, this first veterinary symposium will have made it possible to improve the knowledge and skills of the sector’s stakeholders, to promote excellence and to contribute to a more sustainable future for animal and human health in Cameroon and beyond.
