COOPERATION: BAD AND MINEPIA EXCHANGE INFORMATION
The new country director of the African Development Bank (AfDB) visited the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) on 03 March 2022.
It was a courtesy visit that was transformed into a working session. Dr Serge Marie N’Guessan, newly assigned to Central Africa, almost began his meetings at the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA). He reiterated the AfDB’s commitment to supporting Cameroon. This summed up the sixty-minute meeting between Dr Serge Marie N’Guessan and Dr Taïga. Fish and milk are the main sectors targeted by the AfDB in its drive to support the public authorities over the next five years. We need to speed up the transformation of what Cameroon produces, and involve young people and women in this process if we hope to reduce Cameroon’s trade balance,” said Dr Taiga’s host. The AfDB’s ambitions are very much in line with those of the MINEPIA, whose main focus for the time being remains import substitution through the development of aquaculture, fishing and milk.
The African Development Bank and MINEPIA enjoy excellent cooperation and share common interests. The Livestock and Fish Farming Value Chain Development Project (PD-CVEP) is one of the latest fruits of this multilateral cooperation.
