The second edition of the Livestock Farmers Festival dubbed DJOULDE DOUROBE, saw the participation of 250 livestock farmers in Poli- Faro division, North Region on the 21st December 2025.

The colourful ceremony presided over by the Minister of Livestock Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr TAÏGA was an opportunity for farmers to be valorized. Based on the premise that farmers do not consider themselves wealthy whereas they possess enormous wealth, the yearly festival seeks to provide a platform for farmers and the administration to exchange ideas and seek solutions plaguing the sector.

The most recurring problem faced by the livestock farmers in that part of the country is agropastoral conflict, which has been dwindling since the inception of the Livestock farmers festival.

The second edition brought together 250 livestock farmers and 781 performant animals, the best weighing 860 kilo grams as opposed to 540 kilograms in the first edition.The third edition promises to be better with the amelioration of infrastructure for the animals and an increase of prizes to farmers.

The prizes offered to farmers during the festival comprised of animal feed and cash prizes. Livestock farming in the North region boosts the local economy, promotes important species and reinforces social cohesion.
