NEW YEAR’S GREETINGS 2026: MINEPIA COMMUNICATES WITH ITS GUESTS

The Yaoundé Sports Palace was on Wednesday, January 27, 2026, the scene of a splendid ceremony to present New Year’s greetings to the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA).

It is with great enthusiasm that Dr. TAÏGA received New Year’s greetings from the staff of his ministerial department, all the actors of the EPIA sub-sector as well as friends and acquaintances. A moment designed to magnify the conviviality that must exist within all managers, staff and all stakeholders, it was also the perfect place to take an evaluative look at the year 2025 which has just ended. A task that the Inspector General of MINEPIA Dr. Philippe ENGAMBA, speaking in place of the Secretary General of late memory, meticulously dissected, based on the four budgetary programs of the Ministry, in particular:

  • the development of animal production and industries (PROGRAM N° 330);
  • the improvement of livestock health coverage (PROGRAM N° 331);
  • the development of fish production (PROGRAM N°332);
  • strengthening governance and institutional support (PROGRAMME N° 333).

A largely positive assessment that testifies sufficiently to the achievements of MINEPIA on the ground. After this, the Inspector General concluded his remarks with the presentation of a bouquet of flowers to His Excellency: “I would like, on behalf of all the staff of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, managers and staff of the bodies under supervision, professional organizations and other actors in the sector, and on my own behalf,  to present you with our sincere wishes for happiness, health and success for the year 2026, for yourself, for your family and for all those who are dear to you,” he concluded.

The moment of relaxation was punctuated by performances by several artists and comedians who brought a note that could not be more festive and colorful to this ceremony.

During his speech, Dr. TAÏGA congratulated the commitment of all the actors working for the influence of the EPIA sub-sector and invited them to even more self-sacrifice for an ever more laudatory record. In addition, he announced in perspective the major projects of this new year as far as his ministerial department is concerned and which are in line with the policy of the Head of State: “axes for the promotion of youth employment have been drawn up by the Head of State and prescribes to the government the establishment of administrative and fiscal facilities for private companies with the obligation for them to recruit young people (…) therefore, the projects underway will give a special place to the support of young people and women,” he said.

 Finally, the traditional handshake with the minister, a moment of intimate exchange between Dr. TAÏGA and his guests.

The year 2026 at MINEPIA is placed under the theme: “Contribution to the integration of young people and women in the professions of the value chains of the Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries sub-sector”
