13/06/2020As part of activities to mark the International Women’s Day 2020, women in the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries organized and participated in various activitiessuch as a football match, a talk on the theme of this year’s edition of the International Women’s Day celebration ‘promoting gender and protecting women’s rights by 2020, taking stock of actions undertaken, setting a new course’.
A one day seminar on aquaculture was the icing on the cake as described by most women who participated enthusiastically and actively. Most of them resolved to embark on fish farming for either household or commercial purposes.
Another interesting activity which was a hall mark of the celebration was a football match pitting women at the regional service against those of the central services. The match which took place under the watchful eyes of the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries recorded a one nil victory in favour of women in the central service of the ministry.
On the 8th of March, the women converged at the ministry to continue celebrations. NDONGOH MenjoulaGhislaine Virginie was this year recognized as the most influential woman in the ministry . A cash prize and a trophy were officially handed to her by the Minister of Livestock,Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr.Taiga.
